Globe is a food
equipment supplier for industry (manufacturers,
processors, meat wholesalers, packers), retail (supermarkets,
butcher shops, meat markets, carnicerias) and foodservice
(restaurant, deli, sandwich shops, commissaries, caterers, commercial
kitchens, hotels, hospitals, cafeterias).
We
supply equipment for the following functions: cutting, slicing,
dicing, shredding, mixing, blending, forming,
grinding, chopping, cooling, freezing, roasting, cooking, baking,
grilling, smoking, packaging, wrapping, weighing, labeling, portioning,
filling, stuffing, and pumping. Our product line grows all the time
to meet our customers' needs.
In
1955 the founder of our company, Sam Worcester--a former meat cutter--set
up shop as the Northern California franchise for Globe Slicing Machine Co.
of Stamford, CT. As the original manufacturer of a "gravity
feed" commercial slicer in the early 1920's, "Globe",
as they were known, enjoyed much success, eventually
expanding the product line to include meat saws, grinders, and retail
price computing scales for the meat industry. In 1981, at the age of
75, Sam sold the business to Jim and Mark Stevens, who are still involved
in its operation today.
With
over 70 years of combined experience in the meat and food industry, the
new team widened its scope of equipment solutions to
meat/food processors and manufacturers, while it
continued to serve supermarket and foodservice operations. This
was achieved by forming relationships with manufacturers from across the
"globe", choosing only the highest quality equipment from around
the world to represent for the western United States.
